Allison Ponthier Shines Opening for The Japanese House

Country-folk singer-songwriter Allison Ponthier did more than just open for The Japanese House in NYC on July 27th. She made everybody feel things, similarly to Amber Bain of The Japanese House, from the start to the end of her set. Performing a variety of her music with guitarist Kristen Castro, Allison made everyone smile, laugh, sing along, and maybe even shed a few tears.

Originally from Texas and currently residing in NYC, this was a special hometown show for Allison! Any fan could sense her excitement to play at a venue as beautiful as the Rooftop at Pier 17. She even performed a special acoustic rendition of Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather”. If there’s one takeaway from her set, it’s this: any fan of The Japanese House is now a fan of Allison Ponthier!

[…] The second I arrived at Pier 17, I could sense the excitement from fans of The Japanese House. I ended up waiting with a friend on line for doors to open, and admired all of the fans around me for an hour. Wearing their best indie outfits, fans sang along to Amber’s soundcheck radiating from the Rooftop at Pier 17 around 5:00, and when doors opened at 6:00, they rushed to the top floor to wait for the concert to begin. Kicking off the concert with country-folk opener Allison Ponthier, the vibes were already immaculate. View Allison’s photo gallery here! […]
