Young the Giant presents: In The Open

Young the Giant brought their In the Open 2025 tour to Upstate NY for a special preview on July 15th! Between opening for The Lumineers at two of the greatest East Coast venues, Citi Field and Fenway Park, the band travelled to Woodstock, New York for an intimate performance.

To a room full of their biggest fans, YTG created a comfortable environment filled with music and conversation at The Bearsville Theater.

The band formed in 2004 in Irvine, California. After changing their name to Young the Giant in 2010, they released their first album. Now having been together for two decades, the five-piece rock band has released five full-length albums. Known for songs such as “Cough Syrup”, “My Body”, and “Mind over Matter”, Young the Giant brought their songs to a new light through a reimagined ‘In the Open’ performance.

After every few songs, YTG would answer fan questions submitted before the show. Spontaneity, expression, and music creation were topics that the band felt especially connected to. One fan asked about the process of recording songs and then playing them at various shows, from stadiums to 250 cap venues. YTG members explained how important it was for themselves to embrace the process of spontaneity, whether that be through rearranging set lists throughout tour or even playing brand new songs live for the first time on the fly. Another fan hinted at how music shows artistic expression, and to that, Sameer Gadhia, YTG’s singer, explained how personal their 2022 album American Bollywood was to him. He said, “We want to be a big, caring force during this crazy time. We want to have a good time and have fun; it’s a privilege.”

Young the Giant created a beautiful space for their top 1% of fans to listen, sing, and feel through the lyrics of their entire discography. From old songs written years ago to brand new, fresh-out-the-studio records, the audience was excited about all aspects of the In the Open concept.
