Jamming in July: Top Ten

Playlists are the official LOML.

I mean, seriously. My Spotify ‘On Repeat’ knows me better than I do!

Here’s to you, July, in the most declaration-of-love way I can give you: a playlist of my favs 💌

TOP 10!

One: Cross Your Mind – Shelly

I’ve loved Shelly since Shelly 1… or when I thought ‘Shelly’ just sounded a lot like Clairo… whoever she is. Supergroup Clairo, Claud (who I saw walking down the NYC streets right before this release!), Noa Frances Getzug, and Josh Mehling really did their big one with Shelly 2. I want a Shelly 3. And 4. And a tour!

Two: No Broke Boys – Disco Lines & Tinashe

Now this one I can really only blame on Love Island. Did the song air on the show? Not sure. But it certainly was danced to by Austin Boston. Drive to this at least one time and then tell me how you feel. You’re welcome.

Three: Cheeky – The Dare

I saw this live back in May at Mr. The Dare’s Baby’s All Right Residency and I can only say — You’re like hehe, I’m like ha-ha——ha.

Four: Money is Everything – Addison Rae

It’s an Addison Summer. Money is everything, and so is fame, which is also… a gun?

Five: Headlock – Imogen Heap

A song from ten years ago had to make its way into the Top 10! Headlock is the most perfect thing my ears have ever heard. Goodness I love it. Don’t forget the beat drop!

Six: Sugar Water Cyanide – Rebecca Black

I’m somewhat in my club music era and also ‘how indie can you get’ era. But this? This is ALLLL club girl. Rebecca Black stuns in yet another venture into DJing.

Seven: What Was That – Lorde

Can’t forget our new album icon, Lorde! It was between this or Man of the Year, but this screamed more ‘strut your stuff in the middle of the Dunkin parking lot, which to me is the definition of summer success.

Eight: undressed – sombr

The second I saw this man swinging around his microphone on Fallon, I knew two things: 1) I loved this song and 2) that I realllllly want to see our height difference live.

Nine: Illegial – PinkPantheress

It’s really nice to meet you: me shaking hands with you, the funkiest funky person, through the screen. You’ve been recommended to me by some people.

Ten: One Thing – Lola Young

Lola’s voice in this is as smooth as butterrrrrrr. Another driving with the windows down type of vibe. Perfect for July!

Now, it may be a strange listen to all in one go with all of the genre dynamics, but that’s what makes it perfect!

Listen below on Spotify for the full playlist, and I hope you dance around as much as I did to it.
