The Japanese House Sells Out NYC Show

Oh, how I love The Japanese House. The moniker of Amber Bain, The Japanese House produces some of the greatest music for the summer season, including “Touching Yourself”, “:)”, “Sunshine Baby”, “Saw You In A Dream” and “Boyhood”. We had the pleasure of shooting Amber’s New York City stop on the North American Tour on July 27th. The indie-pop musician, hailing from Buckinghamshire, England, began releasing music under The Japanese House name in 2012, and rose to fame after her first single, “Still”, was premiered on BBC Radio 1.

The second I arrived at Pier 17, I could sense the excitement from fans of The Japanese House. I ended up waiting with a friend on line for doors to open, and admired all of the fans around me for an hour. Wearing their best indie outfits, fans sang along to Amber’s soundcheck radiating from the Rooftop at Pier 17 around 5:00, and when doors opened at 6:00, they rushed to the top floor to wait for the concert to begin. Kicking off the concert with country-folk opener Allison Ponthier, the vibes were already immaculate. View Allison’s photo gallery here!

The night was filled with Amber’s dream pop songs, soft vocals, and beautiful lyricism under the New York City skyline. Stating that this show felt surreal, and potentially her favorite concert ever multiple times throughout the performance, The Japanese House crafted a musical experience that NYC fans will never forget.
